Składniki
- 2 ugotowane buraki
- ogórek
- rzodkiewki
- szczypiorek (ew. dymka)
- ok. 1 litr zsiadłego mleka/kefiru/maślanki
- pieprz i sól
- koperek
...
I've never been a fan of chłodnik (cold beetroot soup). I remember going with my parents on some summer trips and avoiding chodnik in every restaurant and ordering different soups. When they were trying to tempt me with it, but they never succeeded. Till today, when I couldn't stand the Italian heat anymore and decidec to make chłodnik, which is the best summer dish. Apart from that, it's simple and fast to make, so you won't sweat standing for hours next to the oven. Below I present you the recipe for my first chłodnik and which I actually really liked.
Ingredients
- 2 boiled beetroots
- cucumber
- radish
- chives (or spring onion)
- around 1 liter of buttermilk/kefir
- pepper and salt
- fennel
- hard-boiled eggs
Peel off boiled beetroots and grate them into big pieces. Dice the cucumber, slice the radish and chop the chives and fennel. Then fill all vegetables with buttermilk/kefir. Add pepper and salt as much as you want (I added quite a lot of pepper). Mix everything and serve with hard-boiled eggs.
A bit different
- I think chłodnik would be the best with curds, but I couldn't find it in Genoa (I'm not sure if it's available at all). Kefir is also good :)
- I mentioned fennel in the recipe, but I didn't add it, because again I couldn't find it in the shops
- the same with chives. I used spring onions, which have more spicy taste, so it tasted good. But I still think, that chives would suit here better
We Włoszech burak nie jest popularny....no i można go kupić jedynie w "obgotowanej" formie :)
UsuńBardzo smacznie opisane i pokazane.
