Bardzo polecam Maffe, czyli ryż z gulaszem z orzechów arachidowych. Zjadłam do ostatniego kęsa i ostatniej kropli sosu. Pycha!
Thieboudienne jest również przepyszne. Jest to rodzaj kaszy z duszonymi warzywami i rybą. Pychota.
Na deser zamówiliśmy znów rodzaj kaszy, tylko tym razem w mlecznym sosie. Niestety nie pamiętam nazwy tego dania, ale było również niczego sobie.
Do tego pyszne białe wino. Nic tylko przychodzić na regularne obiady. Byliśmy bardzo najedzeni po naszej kolacji, aż nie mogliśmy wstać od stołu.

Since our anniversary was coming, we decided to celebrate it in some cozy restaurant with tasty food. After searching in Tripadvisor (I use this website very often, it's very useful) and going through zillions (!) of restaurants in Genova (every Italian city is full of restaurants), we found this Senegalese place. Italian cuisine is delicious, but why not trying something new.
Restaurant "Jamila" is located right in the beginning of The Old Town at the Via del Giustiniani 13. It was decorated with bright, colorful lamps and looked very inviting. It was very surprisng that we were the only guests there, only later somebody else came. Surprising, because the food turned out to be very tasty and the prices affordable.
I recommed Maffe, which was rice with pieces of meat in dark, peanut sauce. I ate every bite and drop of the sauce. It was delicious!
Thieboudienne is also very good. It was some kind of porridge with stewed vegetables and fish. Yummy.
Our dessert was also kind of porridge, but in the milk sauce. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of this dish, but it was also very good.
Everything with good white wine.We couldn't move after our dinner, we were so full!
Unfortunately it turned out that, this restaurant is usually empty, it wasn't something new for it. There are usually no people and the owner most probably will have to close the place. It's such a pity, because the food was very tasty. Only tourists come to "Jamila", after finding it in Tripadvisor like us and they come only once, since they are tourists. Local people prefer local Italian food, they don't want to try new things. I always feel sad about this kind of places which have big potential of becoming something remarkable, but they don't have the chance. It's like with all beautiful, old buildings, which are just standing there decaying. Hopefully "Jamila's" fate will be different.
